The ‘us’ vs ‘them’ is a problem in out society because we as humans end up dividing ourselves into small categories. With these divisions it makes us think about who we can trust and who we can’t. With these thoughts of ‘im not like that person’ it makes us feel that we are more then the ‘them’ part of the problem. We dont get to see that other person as anything but the them. We paint one picture of them because they are not us. With this thought process it makes the others seem like they are less then the you group because they are not part of it. Which can cause some big issues. This can make us do insane things because we don’t think of the other person. As David Berreby says in his book.  “Look at it this way: On Sept. 11, 2001, 19 young men decided they could kill thousands of people they had never met, because those victims didn’t count — they weren’t part of “Us.” This is a perfect example of the us vs them mentality and how it can cause people to do crazy things.
