In both of the articles the topic of conversation is a large aspect. Appiahs entire argument is that conversations are needed to provide any meaningful change to become a better society. In running from the cut she shows us the importance to conversation. She starts speaking up about the issue, she continues to speak even though the village wouldn’t listen. She continued to speak and provide a place for conversation about the subject. This resulted in people starting to listen to her point of view and in turn she helped many other females from getting female mutilated. The Art of social change speaks more directly about how conversations are the bases of societal change. It talks about opening up discussions and how to properly discuss those subjects.
